The Power of Natural Perfume

Every year, billions of dollars are spent on perfume, cologne, aftershave, etc.  Most everyone likes to smell nice. Some individuals have one perfume or cologne which they wear the entire lifetime.

They find a scent they like and stick with it, unwilling to take a chance on anything else.  No matter how much money a person spends or how much they love a particular cologne or perfume, it can’t compare to the distinct scent of natural perfume.

Natural perfume, or natural scents, have a certain power that plays on human emotions.  Smell is a very important sense, the most primitive, and its response to certain scents or specific odors remains in the human mind.  Natural perfume appeals to human senses and causes alluring reactions.  This same sort of response is seen in insects and animals.  Certain scents attract the male to the female.

Unfortunately, natural perfume wasn’t really given a chance in the early perfume industry. Once synthetics were discovered, natural scents were mimicked and used in the composition of perfume and cologne.  This was much better for the manufacturers since the use of synthetics was far less expensive than abstracting the necessary components from nature to make natural perfume.

Natural perfume can still be bought today, but it is very expensive.  The reason natural perfume is so expensive is because of the difficulty obtaining it.  Natural perfumes are usually made in small batches because they are made by hand, extracted from nature’s raw materials.  Even to make a tiny amount of natural perfume, at times it takes a great amount of raw materials.  Some natural perfumes, although using the same raw material, may have a somewhat different scent than others.  The scent may differ due to the conditions the raw materials are taken from.  The growing conditions may differ as well as the extraction conditions.

Some synthetic perfumes may claim to have natural ingredients.  It’s not hard to tell whether a perfume is natural or not.  Natural perfume remains on the skin for a brief period of time, while synthetic compositions will last much longer.  The reason synthetics remain for a longer period of time is because of the chemicals used in them.  If wondering whether or not a perfume is natural, it’s always a wise idea to read the list of ingredients.  If an inexpensive perfume lists expensive natural ingredients, the product is not likely to be a natural perfume.

Natural perfume is not likely to show up on a shelf at the corner store or at the local pharmacy.  Such delicate blends would be found in specialty shops, or perhaps large department stores that sell expensive perfume.  There is plenty to learn about natural perfume.  Some people find it very interesting learning about the process of making natural perfume.  If interested in learning about natural perfume, the Internet is a great source of information.  Not only can an individual learn about the composition of natural perfume, they can also find details about where to purchase it.
